Beach Volleyball Comes to a College Near You!!!

As of April 21, 2009 Beach Volleyball will officially be coming to Universities around the US. Division II schools have already approved beach volleyball as a new sport they were just waiting for the Division I schools and it has been finalized. Around the year of 2010-2011 beach volleyball as we all know and love it will be an official sport of the NCAA and will be called "Sand Volleyball." Girls wont be in there little yellow polka-dot bikini's, but will be in sport bra's and spandex, to still give it a beach volleyball feel.

In-door Volleyball is the No. 2 women's sport in the NCAA and beach volleyball and just rising to the top world wide. I'm really excited that they considered beach volleyball as a NCAA sport but wish they made this decision sooner so I got a chance to play it. This is going to make competition's tougher and the beach volleyball world a whole lot bigger. Cant wait to see how everything goes and who knows maybe I'll play one year in Grad-school...

SAND SOCKS!!! A GREAT INVESTMENT

Okay so i played in the Beach Volleyball Tournament today in beautiful Hollywood, Florida which happen to be one of the most gorgeous days in a long time. It was so hot out that the sand was burning my feet. So I remember reading about sand socks and saw everyone wearing them. At first I was hesitant to get them because i was afraid it would be a weird feeling to play on the sand with socks, and was afraid it would affect my performance. After playing a game I realized the sand is not getting any cooler so I ran over to buy some of these cool sand socks for myself and yes I really did run. They were a little out of my price range, $20 bucks for a pair of socks that's a lot of money but I bought them anyways. Best $20 investment I ever made.

These sand socks made from Vincere, kept my feet sand free, cool, and best of all there water proof. The soles are made of neoprene which protects against the heat, cold, shard objects, and dirt. The rest of the socks are made from Lycra a stretchy material that allows flexability, and your feet to breath during play. These Socks are so cool not only are they made for the sand but you can wear them boating, surfing, sking, and diving. If your a Beach volleyball player and you dont have a pair of sand socks you need to get them right now! You can click on the link above and it will take you to a sight that you can purchase a pair in your size and choose from 6 different colors and patterns.

Know What we Know!!!

Like every sport volleyball has its own signs and signals. Most signs are used by the setter to let there teammates know what play she is running, this is used mostly in-door. However, beach volleyball has signs too. Some signs are used to communicate with your partner on where to serve the ball, open spots on the court, where to put the set, and blocking.

Have you ever wondered why we put 1 or 2 fingers behind our back when are partner is serving? What do u think those signs mean? Well here is a video that explains and shows you what the signs mean and why they are used. Hope this helps you and enjoy!

The ASS-entials in Beach Volleyball

When you think of Beach Volleyball what's the first thing that comes to mind? I know for me it the sweat, adrenaline rush, heat, sand, and competition that gets me, but for most it has nothing to do with the game. Beach Volleyball has become one of the sexiest sports around and the audience who watch it aren't paying attention to the game. There paying attention to the girls in bikini's, and the sweat dripping down them. It's like a PG-13 porn video. Every picture you see taken to represent beach volleyball is a picture of an ass. Just Google, Beach Volleyball and you can see for yourself.

Volleyball is more than having the sexiest uniform around. It's about the competition and fight these girls give to compete at the highest level possible. I'm not going to lie we look dam good in our bikini's, but would like a little more respect. Volleyball on the beach is not as easy as we make it look and hope in the future us as beach volleyball players are acknowledge for our performance and not for who has the best ass.

BEACH WORK-OUTS

Some of the best training advice comes from athletes who excel in there sport. One athlete who has proven her skill and consistency year after year is beach volleyball player Kerri Walsh. Kerri is an Olympic Gold Medalist, who not only has the drive to become a better player but the training to achieve her goals.

Recovering from a serious injury, I've been looking for anything and everything that can help me in getting back into shape for my upcoming season this fall. I found this article on Kerri Walsh that has information that not only can help me but others trying to work on getting into shape. Volleyball workouts are not just for those who play volleyball because if you have noticed volleyball players have the best bodies. Strong upper arm strength, solid thighs, and an abdominal core thats sick.

We take 3rd at the FBVT

This past weekend in beautiful Fort Lauderdale beach, Florida my sister and I placed 3rd in the Florida Beach Volleyball Tour tournament. Moving up to the Women's A division the competition was tough but with the strong bond me and my sister have we were able to over come it. Who am I kidding me and my sister fought the whole tournament.

It's really hard to play with a sibling even harder when your younger sister thinks she's the best. Don't get me wrong she is good and hopefully will be playing at St. Thomas University this upcoming fall season, its just she needs a new attitude. We play well together and I can see use going far together in this sport, its just my sister needs to learn how to hold in her
smart remarks.

Playing a 2 player sport gets frustrated cause there is only two people on the court that can mess up and sometimes you cant control what's going to happen. If your partner makes a mistake don't get down on them because there only going to get mat at you and then its going to turn into a very stressful match. So next time your getting frustrated make sure you shake it off and get the next point.

Florida Beach Volleyball Tour

It's time to bring out the bathing suits, and get in shape. Florida Beach Volleyball Tour will be hosting a beach volleyball tournament May 23-24. Come join FBVT and all the sexy south florida volleyball players in a 2 day all day fun filled weekend. Located on the sandy beaches of Fort Lauderdale make sure to get there early, 1st game starts at 9AM.

The best place to spend your Memorial Weekend, is on the beach. Fort lauderdale beach is going to be packed with hot guys and plenty of volleyball courts. The best part is if it rains nobody cares because were dedicated volleyball players and nothing is going to stop us from competing. Fort Lauderdale beach is one of the few places that is filled with picnic tables and grills so u can have a BBQ right on the beach. Don't miss out on the fun, look forward to seeing you there...
